About CJ Lim
“Every behaviour may be telling us something. When we understand the pattern, the next step becomes clearer.”
That belief shapes how I support parents. I help you understand what may be happening behind your child’s communication, regulation, routines, and daily home challenges, then plan what to try next.
Why parents work with me
Many parents are already trying very hard. We start by understanding what is happening, not judging your response.
Sessions focus on what you can observe, adjust, and try in real routines at home or school.
APC focuses on understanding patterns and supporting the child, not forcing behaviour to look “normal.”
My background
These qualifications help me understand autism, communication, regulation, learning, and everyday family routines. I translate them into practical parent guidance, not clinical therapy.
This supports my understanding of autism, inclusive learning, school participation, and how children may need support to access learning in different environments.
Hanen training helps adults support children’s communication through everyday routines, waiting, modelling, shared attention, and responsive interaction.
CJ has completed the 3-day SCERTS training, covering neurodevelopment, communication stages, emotional regulation, support planning, learning environments, and progress monitoring. APC may integrate relevant SCERTS concepts into parent education and home support planning. APC does not provide official SCERTS training.
This helps me notice possible speech clarity, oral-motor, and feeding-readiness factors. APC does not replace speech therapy or feeding therapy.
How I work
In APC sessions, we look at what is happening before, during, and after difficult moments. We consider communication, regulation, routines, environment, and adult responses.
From there, we plan practical next steps that are realistic for your family.
Clear scope
APC is not an ABA provider, diagnostic service, therapy clinic, OT, speech therapy, psychology service, medical provider, or crisis support service.

After 10 years inside classrooms and 1-to-1 support, I often look beyond the behaviour first. I look at the task, the environment, the instruction, the child’s processing time, and what adults are asking from the child.
Some children need support showing what they know, especially when language, anxiety, or task demands are high.
By the time adults see the behaviour, the child may already be overwhelmed, confused, tired, or overloaded.
A clearer instruction, calmer transition, visual support, or better-timed response can reduce guesswork for both parent and child.
