Free 15-Min First Step Call

What happens during a 15-min First Step Call

The First Step Call is a short clarity and fit check. CJ listens to your main concern, checks whether APC support is the right next step, and recommends what makes sense next.

1

We understand the concern

CJ briefly listens to what is happening, what feels difficult, and what you are hoping to understand.

2

We look for one possible pattern

You receive one useful reframe and one initial direction, not a full consultation or mini-programme.

3

We recommend the next step

CJ may recommend a One-Concern Parent Session, the APC Home Support Programme, observation first, or another suitable direction.

APC is parent education and guidance. The First Step Call is not therapy, diagnosis, crisis support, or a personalised behaviour plan.

Fit check

APC may be suitable if...

APC is designed for parents who want practical guidance, clearer patterns, and a calmer next step at home.

APC may fit if you want help with

  • understanding what your child’s behaviour may be communicating
  • meltdowns, refusal, routines, school stress, or communication concerns
  • knowing what to observe and what to try at home
  • parent guidance, not another child therapy appointment

APC is not the right first step if you need

  • diagnosis or assessment
  • speech therapy, OT, psychology, or medical advice
  • crisis or emergency support
  • a promised behaviour change plan

Clear scope

APC is parent education and practical guidance.

APC does not diagnose, provide therapy, replace OT, speech therapy, psychology, or medical care, or provide crisis support.
